If you need a warm cup of coffee in your hand to have a great start, this is for you. Many people let their coffee machine turn off automatically after few hours and they place the pot in the dishwasher. While running the coffee pot and other components in the dishwasher is an effective way to sanitize it.

There are also other parts of the machine they also requires attention. Deep cleaning your coffee machine periodically is important. You should deep clean the coffee maker once a month at least and you can do this with vinegar or few other items depending on what you have in the house. Follow these coffee machine solutions.

Clean With Vinegar

The goal is to dissolve the calcium deposits that have built up in your coffee maker. Empty the coffee carafe and clean the filter. Add white vinegar and water to the maker. Use around half vinegar as much as you have water.

If your coffee maker has a clean function, use it to run the effective clean cycle. If the maker doesn’t have a clean function, press Brew now as if you are brewing a regular pot of coffee. Brew this mixture like you brew a regular pot of coffee.

Wait For Few Minutes

After the brewing or cleaning is done, let the coffee maker sit around 15 to 30 minutes for the mixture to do its job. Dump out the vinegar brew, toss the filter or rinse the permanent filter and then rinse the carafe thoroughly.

Repeat It Twice With Water

Repeat this process with pure water to remove the remaining vinegar, then empty the water completely and run the coffee maker for the last time using water only.

Your sparkling clean coffee maker is ready. You can now enjoy your coffee. For a weekly deep clean just make sure to clean all the parts of coffee maker and soak them in a bucket of hot water and dish soap. This process will help to remove the set in stains, grime and built up coffee residue that can lead to that old, burnt taste we associate with gas station coffee.
